CLUB

Inline Hockey

Inline Hockey is a fast and exciting game played in a similar fashion to Ice Hockey with a few key differences. The main one is that Inline Hockey is played on inline skates (or rollerblades) on surfaces such as concrete, timber, or on tiled floors specifically made for hockey. The beauty of being on rollerblades is that you can practice anywhere, whether in your driveway or down at the beautiful Cairns Esplanade.

Inline Hockey can be played by five-year-olds up to eighty-year-olds and is played with 4 players and a goalie on the rink per team at any one time with at least 4 players on the bench involved in rotation with the on floor players every 2 minutes or so. Inline Hockey is played in Cairns all year round, aligning with school terms. Regional, state, and national competitions are often held during school holiday periods for all divisions.

Being played completely undercover, inline hockey is a sun-safe and wet weather unaffected sport that suits the Cairns climate perfectly for both players and spectators. If you have never watched inline hockey being played before, be sure to check our calendar for upcoming competitions – you will certainly be on the edge of your seat as you watch the action.
